Beyond Lockdown

Beyond Lockdown

This collaboration with researchers at the University of Sussex, School of Psychology is a rapid response study asking how services can best support care leavers as lockdown ends. We are working with small groups of care leaves in Kent, Surrey and Sussex as well as gathering he views of are leavers across the UK via an online survey. The aim is to coproduce guidance for services on what support care leavers want and for other care leavers to help them across get back on track after lockdown. We hope to run multi-agency stakeholder event/s, likely to be online, to explore the guidance and discuss implementation and next steps with services. Care leavers will be invited to take active roles.

Research team: Helen Drew, Lecturer, University of Sussex; Valerie Dunn, Creative Research Collective (and University of Oxford); Áine Kelly, a care leaver herself, is an independent researcher and PhD student at the University of Oxford; Professor Robin Banerjee, Head of School of Psychology, University of Sussex is our project advisor. The work is funded by NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
