About us

We are a diverse group of professionals – artists, researchers, film-makers who work creatively with groups to explore and share difficult or sensitive topics and experiences. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We create an environment where participants and professionals learn from each other at a technical, emotional or social level. We are interested in working with groups whose voices are rarely heard or excluded from public debate. We aim to find ways to reach wide audiences with clear messages. The process by which we get there is as important as any finished product, whether that’s a report, film or other practical output.

We have been working together since 2011 when Valerie Dunn was a research associate at the University of Cambridge, Dept. of Psychiatry working with NHS and social care partners within the National Institute for Health Research, Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (NIHR CLAHRC) East of England, (now NIHR ARC East of England). The Creative Research Collective is independent of both the NIHR and the University of Cambridge. Content and views are those of CRC members and not the NHS, NIHR or Department of Health.
